During each teacher workshop a teacher survey will be given out. The survey will rate if any increased communications with parents have started to take place? which type of communication have been used?, have targeted specific workshops helped with the instruction of students and the communication of parents?, Have student behavior and grades increased?, Rate on a scale of 1 to 10 how much you think the improvement has to do with new parent communication, How much have the workshops helped you as a teacher?, How valuable would you rate the information given during the workshop?, and any feedback or comments
Great idea for a research project. My daughter's school had the same goal and one year in September they did something different. They came out into the community from 5-7p.m. on school busses to talk to families about parent involvement and what parents would like to see happening at school. I think this connection was very appealing to parents and made them feel more comfortable talking to staff. It also helped that they received personal invitations to the school. This might be an idea for you.
